The European Green Party welcomes that Kosmos will be running at the upcoming European Parliament elections and that voters in Greece will have progressive and Green candidates to vote for on 9 June 2024.
These elections are key to get a Greener, fairer and more democratic Europe. Kosmos, led by MEP Petros Kokkalis, is ready to fight for climate protection, social and civil rights, economic justice, peace, feminism and the defence of the rule of law.
Kosmos has found an agreement with Prasinoi / Oikologia and they are running together for the European elections with their leading candidate Vassiliki Gramatikogianni. The European Greens support this coalition, as it is built under the core values of the Greens: climate and social justice, freedom, diversity, and peace.
We are living in challenging times: the EU Green Deal attacked by conservative and far-right forces, wars at the border of Europe and in the Middle East, the cost of living crisis. It is of paramount importance to have as many Green voices from as many member states as possible to strive for Green policies that improve people’s quality of life. We believe that Kosmos can bring this vision to the Greek society and fight for a greener, fairer and feminist Europe.
